OraQuick® HIV Self-Test in Canada

About the Study

You’re invited to join research to study the OraQuick® HIV Self-Test in Canada. Over 900 people from diverse populations across Canada will be in this study. In the study, you’ll help test a new device that will tell you your HIV status on the spot. This new technology has the potential to increase access to HIV testing for Canadians.

If you ’re eligible, you’ll be asked to participate in a confidential testing session where you will use the OraQuick® HIV Self-Test by yourself with an observer present and complete a survey. You will also be asked to follow-up about 2 weeks later for your confirmatory (lab) test results. To be considered for this research, you must be: at least 18 years old, able to speak/read/write Engli sh or French, be HIV negative and not on PrEP or PEP, and have never used an HIV self-test.

Nine Circles Community Health Centre is pleased to be an official test site for this research study. We are located at 705 Broad way; Winnipeg, Manitoba; R3G 0X2 Study runs: From September 1st, 2022 to December 16th 2022.
