About this Action Group
Prioritize co-governance with First Nations health leadership organizations in
recognition of the disproportionate impact of HIV among Indigenous peoples in Manitoba. In parallel,
strengthen African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) leadership within CINetwork, including representation
in governance structures, and ensure people with lived and living expertise (PWLE) are meaningfully
embedded in decision-making.
Priority Objectives
- Advance Indigenous leadership and co-governance CINetwork will convene partners, support alignment, elevate Indigenous-led approaches and strategies and work toward a co-governance model.
- Strengthen and expand PWLE leadership and engagement CINetwork will create inclusive spaces, connect partners, and promote meaningful participation in decision-making.
- Enhance and formalize ACB leadership and representation CINetwork will build relationships, support engagement pathways, and increase ACB representation within governance, including the Stewardship Team.
- Evolve governance and leadership models CINetwork will facilitate dialogue, support shared decision-making, and explore models that reflect equity and community leadership.

Our goal by 2029 is the CINetwork is co-led by Nine Circles CHC and an Indigenous Health Policy organization and Indigenous, ACB, and people with lived and living expertise (PWLE) are meaningfully embedded in leadership, governance, and decision-making across the CINetwork and Manitoba’s HIV-STBBI response.
